BIM Technician

G.A. Rich & Sons is a family-owned company providing Commercial Plumbing, Process Piping, Site Utilities and Municipal Service throughout Illinois. We are seeking a full-time BIM Technician on site at our Deer Creek office.

Essential Functions:

• Produce clear and technically accurate drawings based on design specifications
• Operate or assist with: Trimble 3D Pipe Designer, Trimble Point Creator and Trimble Total Station in the office or in the field
• Work with Revit and CAD systems creating, modifying and releasing drawings and word drawings under direct supervision of a supervisor for use by other departments and customers
• Self-check own work for completeness, accuracy, and compliance to standards
• May be responsible for some design elements
• Work from drawings, sketches or scanned images, customer drawings, or engineer’s drawings or specifications
• Use the accepted drawing standards as guidelines
• Uses Trimble software to create material list for prefab

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required, degree from recognized CAD training facility preferred
• Conducts oneself in a professional manner with responsibility, integrity, accountability and excellence 
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative; always finds a way to be productive, takes pride in their work
• Works well as a team member; places the success of the team above self interest
• Familiarity with technologies required for the job, or demonstrated ability to quickly and effectively learn new technologies
• Meticulous attention to detail required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to perform basic math calculations
