We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our team and oversee daily logistics operations.
Position Summary
The Shipping / Receiving Clerk supports the Shipping and Receiving office by providing excellent customer service, coordinating truck schedules, managing driver check-in and check-out, and assigning docks as needed. This role is responsible for preparing and entering customer manifests, creating customer folders for new containers and transfers, and maintaining accurate customer documentation.
Also, the Clerk performs sales order entry, preparing and entering shipping manifests, maintains accurate customer documentation, updates SharePoint to ensure accurate recordkeeping, monitors all communications related to customer manifests and sales orders, and ensures all information is processed accurately and in a timely manner. . In addition, the position assists and provides backup to the broader Shipping/Receiving team, ensuring smooth workflow and consistent operational support.
This role includes maintaining and updating the customer database to ensure accurate and current information. Responsibilities also involve transferring inbound loads out of OCEAN, monitoring sales orders, and requesting customer changes as needed based on production runs. Additionally, the position is responsible for processing customer shipments and printing customer bills of lading (BOL), ensuring all outgoing orders are handled efficiently and accurately.
Qualifications
Required
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency with computers, inventory systems, and documentation processes.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled produce environment.
Preferred
1 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience.
Experience in produce, agriculture, or food production environments.
Familiarity with food safety standards (HACCP, GAP, GMPs).
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods.
Work in cold and/or humid environments as needed.
