GA Foods is seeking a Lead Route Delivery Driver to join our team in Douglas, GA. Position Overview:
The Lead Route Delivery Driver plays a key role in overseeing daily delivery operations and supporting the driver team. This position ensures accurate and on-time delivery of meals, while maintaining compliance with food safety and delivery standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, route coordination, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve route or delivery issues promptly
- Ensure all routes are covered daily and address driver shortages or absences
- Train, guide, and support delivery drivers to meet performance standards
- Ensure compliance with all food safety guidelines and delivery protocols
- Utilize the Wizzy system to manage routing, delivery tracking, and scheduling
- Communicate delivery status updates with office staff and care centers
- Prepare, complete, and submit accurate operational and compliance reports
- Supervise the driver team, promote teamwork, and support management directives
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license (No DUI in last 5 years, 0–4 current points)
- Current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate
- 3 years of route delivery/distribution experience preferred
- Strong leadership, team building, and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Windows is required
- Must be able to use the Wizzy system for routing and delivery tracking – required
- Experience with delivery routing and scheduling – required
- Deep Knowledge of GPS and tablet technologies.
- ServSafe Food Safety Certification preferred
- Experience with delivery routing and scheduling
- This position follows a standard weekly schedule, however, weekend work may be required based on business needs.
