Role Summary
- The Senior Workday Payroll / Benefits / Absence–Time Functional Lead is responsible for driving end‑to‑end design, configuration, optimization, and governance of Workday HCM modules across Payroll, Benefits, Absence, and Time Tracking. This role partners closely with HR, Finance, Total Rewards, and IT to ensure compliant, scalable, and efficient operations across the enterprise. The ideal candidate brings deep Workday functional expertise, strong analytical capability, and proven leadership in complex Workday environments.
- Serve as the primary functional lead for Workday Payroll, Benefits, Absence, and Time Tracking modules.
- Own configuration, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization of Workday functionality.
- Lead cross‑functional workshops to gather requirements, translate business needs, and design scalable solutions.
- Provide governance and oversight for Workday releases, ensuring timely adoption of new features.
- Configure and maintain Workday Payroll including earnings, deductions, tax setup, pay calculations, and retro processing.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Partner with Payroll Operations to troubleshoot issues, validate payroll runs, and support year‑end activities (W‑2, tax filings, audits).
- Lead configuration and administration of Workday Benefits including open enrollment, life events, eligibility rules, and vendor integrations.
- Support Total Rewards in designing and implementing benefit programs and ensuring accurate data flow to carriers.
- Own configuration of Absence plans, accruals, leave programs, and Time Tracking rules.
- Ensure accurate time capture, compliance with labor laws, and seamless integration with Payroll.
- Partner with technical teams to support integrations with payroll providers, benefits carriers, time clocks, and financial systems.
- Build and maintain advanced Workday reports, dashboards, and audit tools to support HR, Finance, and leadership.
- Lead end‑to‑end testing cycles (unit, regression, UAT) for Workday enhancements and releases.
- Develop documentation, SOPs, and training materials for HR and Payroll teams.
- Ensure strong change‑management practices and stakeholder communication.
