Key Responsibilities
- Operate manufacturing equipment used to produce aerospace interior components.
- Set up, monitor, and run machines according to work instructions, travelers, drawings, and supervisor direction.
- Load and unload materials, tools, fixtures, and parts safely and accurately.
- Trim, drill, sand, deburr, clean, finish, and rework parts as needed.
- Use hand tools, drills, routers, sanding tools, measuring tools, and other shop equipment.
- Verify part dimensions using calipers, micrometers, gauges, templates, and other inspection tools.
- Inspect parts throughout the production process for defects, damage, dimensional issues, or workmanship concerns.
- Follow drawings, work instructions, production travelers, and quality requirements.
- Record production activity, inspection results, material usage, job progress, and nonconforming issues as required.
- Identify and communicate machine issues, tooling concerns, part quality problems, or process questions to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow company safety procedures and quality system requirements.
- Support other production activities as needed, including part finishing, packaging, material preparation, assembly support, and general shop tasks.
- Prior experience as a machine operator or in a manufacturing, shop, mechanical, automotive, fabrication, woodworking, or hands-on production environment.
- Ability to accurately use calipers and micrometers.
- Basic understanding of dimensional inspection and measurement practices.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions carefully.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and basic shop equipment.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, production travelers, and basic drawings.
- Good hand-eye coordination and steady control when drilling, trimming, sanding, or finishing parts.
- Ability to identify quality issues and communicate concerns clearly.
- Reliable attendance and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and stay focused on production tasks.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials or parts as needed.
- Good understanding of metrology and inspection practices.
- Experience operating CNC routers, trimming equipment, vacuum forming equipment, or other production machinery.
- Experience working with plastics, composites, aerospace parts, fixtures, tooling, or tight-tolerance components.
- Experience using gauges, templates, fixtures, or other inspection tools to verify part conformity.
- Familiarity with aerospace, AS9100, ISO 9001, or other quality-controlled manufacturing environments.
- Ability to read basic technical drawings and understand dimensional requirements.
