Fabricator
G2 Metalworks is seeking a versatile and detail-oriented fabricator to join our production team. This role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys a hands-on environment and is skilled across multiple fabrication disciplines, including CNC operation, precision bending, and structural welding.
Role Overview
The ideal "all-in-one" metal shop professional will be responsible for overseeing the Plasma table, operating the brake press, and performing high-quality welding. You must be flexible and willing to assist with parts cleanup and other plant needs to ensure smooth production flow.
Key Responsibilities
- CNC Plasma Operation: Manage the plasma table, ensuring quality by checking the first and last hole cut per sheet.
- Brake Press Operation: Produce well-bent pieces while performing secondary checks on hole location and count.
- Structural Welding: Perform welding tasks with a goal of maintaining structural certification.
- Quality Control: Ensure no pieces with defects move on to the next steps of production.
- Parts Preparation: Clean and organize parts after they come off the Plasma table, ensuring a smooth final product.
- Safety & Maintenance: Strictly follow safety protocols, including machine inspections and maintaining required PPE (safety glasses, steel-toed boots).
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in a metal shop or manufacturing environment.
- Welding Skills: Proficiency in MIG; structural welding certification is preferred.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical specifications.
- Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with hand tools, power tools and grinders.
- Adaptability: A "team player" mindset with the ability to learn new machines and jump in where needed.
Compensation & Benefits
- Probation Period: All new hires complete a 2-week probation period, followed by a performance and pay review.
- Growth Opportunities: A second pay review is conducted after 90 days of employment based on performance and attendance.
- Benefits: Eligibility for medical benefits begins after approximately 60 days.
- Holiday & PTO: Holiday pay starts after 90 days, and PTO becomes available after 6 months of employment.
- Status: Full-time status requires maintaining an average of 32 hours per week.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
