What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Environmental Scientist position at G2 Consulting Group, LLC?
G2 Consulting Group is looking for a full-time Environmental Specialist with 3 to 7 years of demonstrated experience to join our Environmental Consulting Department at our headquarters in Troy, Michigan. Environmental Scientist will perform Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and a working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations required. Asbestos Building Inspector is a major plus.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Environmental / Geology or other related field
- 3 to 7 years experience in Environmental Consulting
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Asbestos Building Inspector strongly preferred
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training strongly preferred
- Certified Lead Paint Inspector is a plus
- Certified Wetland Specialist is a plus
- Strong prioritization and coordination skills, self-directed and self-motivated
- Good administrative and time management skills with keen attention to detail
- Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance and have an excellent driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Willingness to work outside
- Ability to work occasional overtime, weekends, and travel requiring out of town, overnight stays
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Phase I and Phase II Environmental assessments (ESAs)
- Asbestos-containing materials surveys
- Preparation of reports in a variety of formats
- Preparing work and health and safety plans
- Conducting soil and groundwater investigations and sampling
- Remediation system operation and maintenance
- Data entry, management, and analysis
