Job Title: Injection Mold Technician/setter
Location: 18 1/2 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, MI
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
Wage: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour, plus a $0.75 afternoon shift premium
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Injection Molding Technician to support production operations through mold changes, equipment maintenance, material handling, and process troubleshooting. This hands-on role plays a critical part in ensuring manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and operational safety in a fast-paced injection molding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mold changes efficiently and document mold change times.
- Maintain and manage regrind material systems.
- Change materials as needed and clean oil and water from work areas.
- Assist with troubleshooting and adjustments on injection molding machines, including robotic and end-of-arm tooling.
- Support machine operators and provide coverage during breaks.
- Work with maintenance staff to assist in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs.
- Monitor and assess molding processes for quality and consistency.
- Maintain cleanliness of the plant and follow all safety and environmental procedures.
- Verify and complete Process Verification (PV) documentation as required.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving activities.
- Support compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 standards.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a technical field is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in an injection molding environment.
- Familiarity with injection mold tooling, robotics, and auxiliary equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Proficiency with applicable software and process documentation.
