We’re looking for a detail-oriented team player to join our Accounts Receivable department as a Cash Application Specialist. In this role, you’ll help keep customer accounts accurate and up to date by applying payments, resolving discrepancies, and supporting the new customer set up process. You’ll work closely with both internal teams and customers, gaining valuable experience in accounting and finance while contributing to the success of our business.
What you’ll be doing
- Apply daily customer payments to open invoices
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies or misapplied funds
- Maintain backup documentation and daily cash receipt records
- Perform account reconciliations and communicate with customers as needed
- Assist with the new customer set up process
- Generate reports and provide payment status updates to the team
- Handle administrative tasks like data entry, invoice reminders, and filing
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or B2B collections
- Familiarity with online payment portals and ERP/accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Comfortable working with confidential financial data
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Equipsoft experience is a plus)
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, equivalent experience will also be considered.
