This role builds and operates complex test setups (including multi‐axis rigs, chambers, and custom fixtures), ensures high‐quality data for development, regulatory, and PRTS/warranty investigations, and drives innovation in fixtures and test methods that support the client's safety, quality, and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Execution

  • Build, set up, and run full vehicle, subsystem, and component structural tests using SDL rigs (multi axis shakers, 4DOF/6DOF rigs, static/dynamic tools, chambers, solar room, etc.).
  • Execute durability, development, and problem solving tests to support VDDV, valuations, plants, and suppliers (e.g., closures, anchorage, power closures, chassis, wiper systems, mastic and seal evaluations).

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot servo hydraulic and electro mechanical test systems, including drive files, load control, and trend monitoring for multi axis rigs and static/dynamic tools.
  • Perform basic calibration checks, functional checks, and system readiness verifications before and during testing.
  • Follow SDL procedures and standard work to ensure high quality test execution and traceable results for development, PRTS, and warranty investigations.
  • Clearly communicate test status, issues, and results to SDL engineers, EMTS, and stakeholders; contribute to tours and demos that explain SDL capabilities.
  • Participate in SDL skills/flex chart development by cross training on priority skills (regulatory tests, instrumentation support, hydraulics/multi axis rigs, SDV 2.0 troubleshooting, etc.).

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, test instructions, and basic electrical/hydraulic schematics.
