Laboratory Technician – Manufacturing / Quality Control (Rotating Shifts)

Pay Rate - $27/hour on W2 - $30/hour on W2
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support manufacturing and quality control operations in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role is responsible for performing routine laboratory testing, sample preparation, equipment operation, data documentation, and quality support activities while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
The ideal candidate has laboratory and/or manufacturing experience, enjoys working in a structured environment, follows standard operating procedures (SOPs), and is comfortable working rotating 12-hour shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory analyses to support manufacturing and product quality.
- Collect and prepare samples for testing using established laboratory procedures.
- Operate laboratory instruments including pH meters, analytical balances, GC, HPLC, and other analytical equipment.
- Accurately record laboratory data, observations, and test results.
- Perform routine calibration, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
- Monitor analytical systems and promptly report abnormal results or equipment issues.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and housekeeping standards.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and consumables.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures while performing laboratory work.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and laboratory teams to support production.
- Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Laboratory and/or manufacturing experience.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and email.
- Ability to follow written procedures, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work a rotating 12-hour day/night shift schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or STEM-related degree (Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Technology, or related field).
- Previous laboratory technician or quality control laboratory experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial laboratory environment.
- Experience using SAP.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience operating laboratory equipment such as GC, HPLC, pH meters, and analytical balances.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive bending, reaching, and twisting.
- Ability to safely work around laboratory equipment and chemicals while wearing required PPE.
Work Schedule
- 12-hour rotating shifts
- Four consecutive workdays followed by four days off
- Rotates between day and night shifts every two weeks
- Must be available to work both day and night shifts, including overtime or schedule changes when required
