Job Summary
This position assists the senior loan origination team in underwriting and analyzing commercial real estate properties for financing with the firm’s capital relationships. In addition, candidate may also assist with the servicing of loans in the firm’s portfolio.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare offering memorandums to include detailed property descriptions and market analysis, tenancy analysis, and underwriting summary.
- Perform financial modeling and spreadsheet analysis in Excel to include overview of historic cash flows, projected pro forma, sources and & uses, and construction budget analysis
- Coordinate information regarding market data, occupancy data, expense analysis, aerials, maps and rent/sales comparables.
- Prepare periodic market analysis reports, including vacancy, absorption, and companies rents and sales.
- Perform a detailed inspection of the property and surrounding area.
- Organize and present data analysis, draw objective conclusions and make recommendations.
- Assist with the annual financials and property inspections performed for the firm’s $1.8 billion loan portfolio.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
- Minimum three years in credit underwriting for Commercial Real Estate.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to identify strengths and mitigate risks.
- Proficient in CRE lending including debt service coverage, cash flow, construction budget, sources and uses, and identification of strengths/weaknesses and mitigants.
- Strong computer skills, inclusive of experience with MS Office applications (specifically MS Word and Excel).
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and complete them on time.
