Industrial Oven Operator / Baker - 2nd Shift

G&S Foods is a central PA based snack food company operating in Hanover, PA. We are a co-manufacturer of sweet and salty snacks from popcorn to chocolate-covered pretzels. We are hiring for a 2nd shift Baker . Be a part of our continued Growth & Success at G&S Foods!

Our 2nd shift Baker position is full-time with a stable work shift throughout the year and great benefits including attendance bonuses and employee appreciation events!

Responsibilities:

• Pretzel oven operations including oven control adjustments to meet moisture specifications
• Caustic cooker operations including cooker control adjustment to meet color / pH specifications
• Take checks of water amounts and temperature of raw dough.
• Direct and assist mixing operators to ensure proper mixing of pretzel dough.
• Operating the forklift to supply pretzels room / mixer operators with ingredients
• Assist in quality assurance with samples of finished product and caustic
• Setup and operate all equipment with a high degree of proficiency
• Complete paper work required for the production function
• Work with mechanics to resolve machinery issues
• Run samples for new products to assist in establishing efficiencies and production standards
• Communicate with warehouse for supplies needed (ingredients)
• Ensure that work areas are cleaned up at end of shift each day and helps prepare lines for next day’s production or for next shift’s production
• Follow proper Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and standards and report violations
• Follow safety procedures and report violations of safety procedures

Required Skills:

• Previous monitoring of and adjusting of industrial ovens required
• Knowledge of products, film, box for each customer and product
• Must be able to work in varied temperatures (hot or cold)
• Team player
• Time management
• Effectively communicate with team members including Quality Assurance Technicians to make adjustments
• Ability to train new operators and assist with proficient operation of the equipment

Shift Time:

• 2nd Shift: Monday to Friday, 3:00pm-11:00pm
