The Scheduler will determine and communicate the optimal schedule for workflow of materials for equipment in assigned department(s) in an efficient manner, ensuring commitments to customers are met.
EDUCATION:
- Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities, required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Schedule and coordinate the flow of material within or between the departments to speed up production. Revise schedule according to availability of materials, staff, and production capacity.
- Determine whether a product is non-conforming based on data received. Responsible for the disposition of nonconforming product.
- Act as subject matter expert for assigned department(s) in flow of material through the production process. Answer questions as requested.
- Determine the best operating sequence for manufacturing of product to maximize the quality and the timeliness of orders.
- Document the process in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system with a daily note to indicate precise work flow for equipment and shifts, noting the priority.
- Monitor daily production, new orders, and any other developments that impact the schedule; assess; and make the necessary adjustments.
- Monitor inventory levels and report to the Purchasing department in order to assist in maintaining the appropriate raw material inventory necessary for production schedules. Assist with inventory control through physical and cycle counting inventories, as needed. Provide support to production in the accuracy of inventory labels by making changes when requested as issues arise.
- Use the analysis of scheduling reports and historical data in order to support recommendations to management and the engineering department for any necessary improvements, repairs, modifications of processes and/or equipment to increase productivity. Support implementation of approved recommendations as requested.
- Work with all departments to coordinate necessary interruptions, such as scheduled maintenance, rework, remake, and research of orders.
- Provide production lead-time quotations to the Customer Service department, Product Managers, and Sales Liaison.
- Regularly review the late order report and provide feedback to management and the sales department as to revised deliveries or other changes.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Must be able to work without close supervision and be capable of self-checking completed work. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Fast-paced office environment within a manufacturing company.
- Travel may be necessary at times.
- Minimal exposure to WDO and WDO 10 lv (oils), hydrogen, nitrogen, industrial alcohol, chemicals used as cleaning and processing aids and 50% diluted sulfuric acid.
- Appropriate PPE must be worn where posted and required.
- Exposure to fluctuating temperatures may occur.
- Majority of time spent at desk working on a computer.
- Requires some periods of standing, walking, climbing stairs, and bending.
- Average weights in production range from 10-25 lbs. Maximum weights may exceed 75-80 lbs. on occasion.
