Job Description
Position Title –
Assembler
Department –
Manufacturing
Reports To –
Assembly Supervisor
Overall Responsibility –
Installation of various parts or components onto John Deere construction or agricultural equipment for the purpose of custom applications such dozers used in fighting forest fires, excavators for military applications, loaders for landfill or waste transfer stations and agricultural tractors outfitted for right-of-way mowing or power line maintenance
Key Tasks and Responsibilities –
Installation of manufactured kits onto new equipment
Following detailed work instructions and procedures to ensure quality of installation
Follow manufacturer procedures for torqueing bolts, hydraulic hoses and fittings
Maintain a clean and organizes work area
Skills and Attributes –
Ability to read and understand written and oral work instructions
Ability to work independently using basic hand tools and air tools
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work alone or in a team concept in order to complete a project
Must be agile with the ability to work in awkward positions such as under machines, in tight areas of machines, on top of large machines or while standing on ladders or work platforms
Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems found in heavy equipment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Experience Requirements –
High School Diploma
1 year experience in related field
Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour
