Job Title: Underground Utility Laborer – Fiber Bury Crew (Subcontractor for Lambert’s Cable Splicing)
Job Description:
We are seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to join our fiber bury crew as subcontractors for Lambert’s Cable Splicing. This is a hands-on, outdoor position involving underground construction and fiber installation. The work includes both manual labor and the use of equipment to ensure reliable fiber connections for customers.
Responsibilities:
- Bore under roads, driveways, and sidewalks for conduit placement
- Place flower pots/handholes at fiber connection points
- Fish fiber from one service terminal to another
- Install 1.25"–2" conduit for fiber optic lines
- Bury fiber near customer’s electric meter and complete service drops
- Perform digging, trenching, and backfilling as required
- Maintain a clean and safe job site
- Work as part of a team to complete daily assignments efficiently
Qualifications:
- Prior underground utility or construction experience preferred (boring, trenching, conduit, fiber installation)
- Willing to train motivated candidates with no experience
- Ability to perform physical labor in various weather conditions
- Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Work Environment:
- Outdoor, field-based work
- Physically demanding (digging, trenching, lifting)
- Full-time, with potential overtime depending on workload
