GMO Properties is seeking a reliable, skilled, and solution-oriented Maintenance Technician to support a growing 45-unit residential portfolio throughout Chicago on an on-call / as-needed basis.
This is not a one-time project. We are looking to build a long-term working relationship with a dependable technician who takes pride in quality work, communication, and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Unit turns, including patching, painting, and light repairs
- Plumbing repairs such as clogs, fixture replacements, and minor leaks
- Basic electrical work, including outlets, switches, light fixtures, and troubleshooting
- General residential maintenance and repair work
- Property inspections and preventative maintenance walkthroughs
- Emergency maintenance service calls as needed
- Coordination and communication regarding work orders and repair status
Position Details
- On-call / as-needed position
- Flexible scheduling
- Consistent ongoing workflow across multiple properties
- Independent Contractor (1099)
Requirements
- Previous residential property maintenance experience required
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently
- Own tools and reliable transportation
- Strong communication and responsiveness
- Professional appearance and tenant interaction
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required
