What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping & Receiving Technician G&L position at G&L Tube, LLC?
Shipping and Receiving Technicians are responsible for accurately processing incoming and outgoing shipments and performing various daily warehouse activities
Responsibilities:
- Complete pick list requirements for customers daily
- Band, package, check, and load shipments per bill of lading and customer requirements
- Verify shipping part IDs, quantities, heat numbers, box and skid counts are consistent with BOL
- Unload incoming shipments of raw materials, packaging, etc.
- Verify incoming shipment paperwork and sign receivers
- Verify material incoming to stock and transfer within ERP as needed
- Maintain clean and safe work area
- Move physically boxes and bundles of finished goods or raw material safely
- Perform quality checks and tag coils and skids of incoming raw material
- Stage work centers as production schedule requires
- Tag nonconforming raw materials as necessary
Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and execute tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Forklift operation experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED, required.
- 1-2 years of experience in shipping or logistics preferred
- Basic Microsoft Office Suite experience
- Basic data entry skills
- Ability to stand, bend, stretch, and twist and lift 40lb on a routine basis
