G & J Smoke & Vape Shop and City Vape are seeking a reliable, motivated, and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service. This position requires someone who is dependable, trustworthy, detail-oriented, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Sales Associates are responsible for assisting customers, maintaining product knowledge, processing transactions accurately, restocking merchandise, and keeping the store clean and organized. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, show up ready to contribute, and are willing to learn and grow with the company.
Compensation: Starting at minimum wage, with opportunities for growth based on performance and experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Assist customers with product questions and help them find products that meet their needs.
- Maintain knowledge of store products, brands, pricing, promotions, and current inventory.
- Operate the cash register and point-of-sale (POS) system accurately.
- Handle cash, process payments, and provide correct change.
- Follow all store policies, procedures, and applicable laws, including age-verification requirements.
- Restock shelves, organize merchandise, and maintain accurate product displays.
- Keep the sales floor, checkout area, and other assigned areas clean and organized.
- Assist with inventory counts, shipments, and other daily store operations.
- Work cooperatively with team members and management to maintain a positive work environment.
- Arrive on time, follow assigned schedules, and complete responsibilities consistently.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and seek management assistance when needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a valid form of identification and a Social Security card for employment verification.
- Previous customer service or retail sales experience is required.
- Must be reliable, dependable, trustworthy, and punctual.
- Must demonstrate a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Must communicate effectively and work well with customers, coworkers, and management.
- Must be comfortable handling cash and performing basic math.
- Must be able to work independently, stay productive, and follow directions.
- Must maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- Must meet the company's background-screening requirements.
