What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Specialist position at G.H. Tool & Mold, Inc.?
Fast-paced manufacturing support covers a range of jobs throughout each work day, including material handling, inventory, bead blast, heat treat, etc. You'll never be bored! Includes checking incoming deliveries to make sure all ordered material meets quality standards, and prepping items for shipment.
- Load and unload trucks
- Organize stock in the most efficient way using forklifts, pallets, cranes etc.
- Wrap orders and place them on trucks for delivery
- Construct pallets and crates when needed
- Maintain documentation and organization system
- Use ovens to heat-treat steel
- Make deliveries to and from other locations
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS .
- Valid drivers' license.
- Physical ability to move, lift and/or push up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
- Physical ability to walk/stand on concrete for the duration of the work shift, in increments of up to six (6) hours.
- Ability to effectively and safely use a wide variety of hand measuring tools, wrenches, saws drills, and various small tools
- Basic computer proficiency, including data entry skills and familiarity with various software programs.
- Adequate eyesight with or without corrective lenses (safety glasses are required) to perform required work with necessary attention to detail.
The position involves frequent lifting, and standing through most of the shift. Mechanical ability is essential, as is the ability to work alone as well as with others, and to juggle multiple tasks in an efficient manner. Regular attendance is required.
G.H. Tool & Mold is *not* a production shop. Each of our tools is custom designed, and custom built by skilled tradespeople. Our facilities are clean, well-organized, and air conditioned.
Minimum requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Related experience (as tool crib attendant, inventory specialist, or shipping/receiving clerk).
- Good oral and written communication skills, and a proactive attitude toward customer service.
- Physical ability to move, lift and/or push up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
- Physical ability to walk/stand on concrete for the duration of the work shift, in increments of up to six (6) hours.
- Ability to effectively and safely use a wide variety of hand measuring tools, wrenches, files, and various small tools associated in a machine shop.
- Good computer proficiency, including data entry skills and familiarity with various software programs.
- Adequate eyesight with or without corrective lenses (safety glasses are required) to perform required work with necessary attention to detail.
