ROLE
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and qualifying in-process production parts for manufacturing, ensuring adherence to test protocols and procedures. You will collaborate closely with production process technicians to maintain consistent and acceptable yields and work toward continuous improvement across production processes.

Responsibilities & Performance Measures
- Perform in process, final, and receiving inspections on optical, mechanical, and electronic components per approved work instructions, drawings, and CTQ criteria.
- Collaborate with production process technicians to initiate and maintain a process for producing parts with consistent and acceptable yields.
- Perform Process Compliance Audits to ensure conformance to company procedures.
- Perform dimensional measurements using manual/hand gauges (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Perform visual inspections of optical parts per MIL PRF-13830B to identify non-conformance according to documented parameters.
- Perform final inspections both in-process (where applicable) and as a standalone operation.
- Identify, contain, and correctly tag nonconforming material; create NCR/DMR entries with defect codes, photos, and evidence.
- Document inspection results electronically into Excel-based inspection files.
- Align goals with the company’s core values: customer focus, integrity, action, unity, and precision.
- Continuously raise individual performance to proactively address problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- High school diploma required, associate degree preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in precision manufacturing, optics, electronics, or metrology.
- Ability to interpret mechanical and optical drawings, CTQs, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow documented work instructions.
- Ability to operate manual and computer-controlled inspection equipment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs; cleanroom discipline as needed.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to document inspection results clearly.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude toward continuous improvement.
- Comfortable collaborating in a cross-functional, fast-changing environment.
