We don’t just “water plants”, we curate and care for vibrant plant displays for well-known commercial clients like The Ritz-Carlton, The Portland Timbers, Jaguar Land Rover and beautiful Private Residences We’re seeking a professional who is dedicated to showcasing perfection and can operate as a meticulous, assertive manager of their own plant route.
About The Role: Excellence and Professionalism
As a G&G Plant Technician, you are the steward of our clients’ biophilic vision! This role requires more than just a green thumb; it requires a meticulously organized professional who can manage a complex schedule with assertiveness and treat every client with a high level of customer service.
Your Core Responsibilities Will Include:
Showcasing Perfection: Providing full-spectrum plant care, watering, pruning, staking, and cleaning, to ensure every plant and container looks flawless and “install-ready” every single day.
Assertive Schedule Management: You are responsible for your own calendar. This means sticking to a regular, predictable schedule and managing your time effectively to ensure every account is serviced to G&G standards without the need for constant oversight.
Customer Service: Acting as the face of G&G. You must be comfortable interacting positively with property managers and staff, addressing concerns with professionalism and confidence.
Independent Prioritization: You will self-manage your daily tasks and priorities, troubleshooting site issues and maintaining your route’s plant health while providing consistent, clear reporting to your manager.
Schedule & Growth Opportunity
This position starts at 15–20 hours per week during training. We value reliability and punctuality above all else. After a skills-proving probationary period, we look to expand hours for technicians who demonstrate they can manage their time effectively, as well as maintain our high standards for quality and consistency. We value consistency, ownership, and people who take pride in doing things right, like our plants, those people grow here. This role works best for someone looking for a stable, long-term fit, not a short-term or fill-in position.

- Detail-Oriented: You notice the smallest details, from dust on a leaf to early signs of stress, before the client ever sees them.

Required Experience & Portfolio
We require a proven background in horticulture or professional plant care. To be considered, applicants must submit a “Plant Portfolio”, photos of plants you have personally cared for (commercial spaces, retail stores, home collections, client spaces, or garden projects). We want to see your dedication to thriving, healthy foliage.

Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who’s plant-savvy, reliable, and ready to be part of the team.
- Proven plant care experience (indoor or outdoor); horticulture knowledge is essential
- Applicants must submit photos of plants they’ve personally cared for
- Valid driver’s license and dependable personal vehicle
- Physically capable of lifting up to 65 pounds and performing active work for 6–8 hours
- High school diploma required; relevant education or certifications are a plus
- Comfortable with electronic communication (Slack, text, email, phone)
- Independent, organized, and detail-oriented
- Tech-savvy enough for route updates and tracking
- Positive attitude, flexible, and willing to learn
- Must pass a background check
- Bonus: experience working with commercial property managers, facilities staff, or maintenance teams

Roles & Responsibilities
As a G&G Plant Technician, you’ll care for a wide variety of commercial plant installations across the Portland Metro Area. Your work goes beyond just watering, it’s about helping our clients’ spaces thrive and look their best every day.
Your role will include:
- Providing full-spectrum plant care: watering, pruning, staking, dusting, cleaning, transplanting, and maintaining moss and decorative elements
- Keeping all display containers clean and dust-free
- Delivering consistent, high-quality service with professionalism and attention to detail
- Monitoring plant health and recommending replacements as needed
- Managing pest issues and promoting healthy, thriving plants
- Interacting positively with clients and delivering exceptional customer service
- Working independently while collaborating with the G&G team for installs and projects
- Troubleshooting issues and addressing service requests or client concerns
- Prioritizing and scheduling your daily/weekly route efficiently
- Reporting replacements and requesting support when needed
- Maintaining and reporting on tools and equipment condition
- Handling all plants and materials safely and responsibly
- Supporting the organization and upkeep of our warehouse and greenhouse
- Assisting with seasonal and holiday décor installations and removals
- Occasionally using ladders (up to 6 ft) for tall plant care
- Participating in team meetings and ongoing training
- Helping with specialty “plantscape” installations like vertical gardens, container groupings, and more
