Position Overview
We are seeking Armed School Security Officers (SSOs) for the 2025–2026 academic year for the various school district in and around the Hanover, PA area
Ideal candidates will have prior experience in law enforcement, corrections, or military service. While this background is preferred, it is not required. We provide training and professional development for candidates with the right mindset, professionalism, and commitment to student safety.
Responsibilities include:
- Serving as a visible, professional armed security presence in school buildings and at school-related events.
- Deterring threats and responding effectively to incidents.
- Enforcing safety, security, and emergency response protocols.
- Building positive working relationships with school staff, administrators, and the community.

Minimum Requirements
Candidates must possess—or be willing to obtain—the following:
- Pennsylvania ACT 235 Lethal Weapons Certification (or eligibility to obtain)
- Federal & State-Mandated Clearances (FBI, PA State Police, Child Abuse)
- NASRO Basic SRO Certification (or an equivalent course approved by PCCD)
