What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Floater position at G&D Integrated?
Summary:
The Warehouse Floater is responsible for temporarily filling in for any Material Handler position or Receiver position that may be vacant. This will require the daily operation of a sit down forklift as well as an order-picker (which will require working at an elevation of 20 feet). Daily tasks include loading/unloading material, staging material for storage or shipment and tracking properly through scanner/tablet system. Basic email and excel spreadsheets will be used. The Warehouse Floater will maintain a safe and clean work area by ensuring they clean their area as needed.
Primary Job Duties:
- Fill in temporarily for any vacant Material Handler or Receiver positions.
- Pull material and stage to proper location.
- Load and unload material.
- Receive material on the inbound dock.
- Ensure that every material move is accompanied by an accurate and confirmed transaction with scanner/tablet.
- Ensure proper material handling and packaging to meet quality standards.
- Utilize overhead crane operation
- Operate (be certified for) a sit down forklift as well as an order-picker.
- Work efficiently to achieve or exceed performance targets for velocity, quality and cost.
- Understand and follow all ISO and 5S initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certified to operate sit down/cherry picker power industrial truck.
- Previous experience operating a counter balance forklift.
- Six months experience in 3P warehousing.
