What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at G&D Integrated?
Summary:
The Material Handler I position is responsible for loading and unloading trucks. Daily use of a sit down forklift is required. Forklift used will range from 5,000lb to 30,000lb lift. This position will maintain a safe and clean workspace.
Primary Job Duties:
- Load and unload material from trucks.
- Operate sit down forklift.
- Proactively communicate issues and work together with Supervisor to identify process improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work efficiently to achieve or exceed performance targets for velocity, quality and cost.
- Understand and follow all ISO and 5S initiatives.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve department and company goals.
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/ skill.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1 year of material handling experience preferred
- Experience in third-party logistics (3PL) environment preferred
- Basic personal computer skills
