Job Summary G.D. Barri & Associates is seeking a skilled Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Designer to support plant modification and engineering projects at a power generation facility in Tonopah, AZ. In this role, you will prepare design drawings using MicroStation, maintain configuration documentation, and collaborate with engineering teams to execute project packages safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- MicroStation Design & Drafting: Prepare, review, and modify CADD design drawings, Design Change Notices (DCNs), and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for plant facilities, substations, equipment, and customer projects primarily utilizing MicroStation.
- Engineering Data Management: Gather and organize engineering data from design documentation to support Plant Design Change Packages and construction packages.
- Project & Technical Support: Assist engineers and project teams with technical guidance, design reviews, cost estimation, manpower estimates, and project schedules.
- Field Verification: Participate in field walk-downs to verify existing equipment configurations and support ongoing modifications or repairs.
- Quality & Standards Compliance: Ensure all technical documents and design configurations conform to plant engineering parameters, CADD standards, and quality controls.
Qualifications & Requirements
- MicroStation Mandate: MicroStation proficiency is strictly required (compensation reflects this specialized software skill set).
- Education: High School diploma or GED, plus completion of two (2) years of college or technical school coursework in CADD or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Experience: Relevant background in design drawings, MicroStation modeling, or plant/facility project support (entry-level through senior candidates are encouraged to apply).
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with MicroStation and general PC software in a Windows environment.
- Soft Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal capabilities for team collaboration.
- Other: A valid driver’s license may be required depending on assigned work areas.
