Duties

G & C Tree Service, LLC, a growing company servicing Huntsville, Madison, and surrounding areas is immediately seeking a Team oriented Tree Climber to perform the following job duties:

• Safely ascend trees using climbing gear and techniques to assess the canopy of large trees (80 ft. tall) and/or access difficult areas for pruning, trimming, or removal.
• Use rigging equipment to carefully lower branches or tree sections, ensuring safety for team members and property.
• Cut, trim, and reshape trees to achieve attractive shapes and to remove low-hanging branches.
• Comply with all regulatory requirements and company policies such as OSHA, MSDS and health and safety.
• Cut branches from trees, using chainsaws, handsaws, clippers, etc.
• Drag brush, chuck logs, run rope, removals, prune, clean out, rigging.
• Follow all safety work procedures, ANSI pruning practices and industry standards.
• Trim and prune trees away from power lines to clear right of way.
• Experience with various climbing techniques and equipment, chainsaws, stump grinders, woodchippers, skid steers, and other heavy machinery.
• Insert jacks or drive wedges behind saws to prevent binding of saws and to start trees falling.
• Review the scope of work and be able to clearly communicate this to Team members as to accomplish the job.
• Operate lifts and lift operation equipment to reach elevated work sites efficiently.
• Perform tree care tasks including trimming, shaping, and health assessments to promote growth and safety.
• Assist with landscape maintenance activities such as lawn care, planting, and general landscaping projects.
• Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to map tree locations and document work performed for accurate records.
• Maintain a clean work environment by removing debris, trimming brush, and ensuring tools are properly stored after use.

Other Requirements:
- Must have 8 years or more experience and be able to communicate, lead and direct Groundsmen or Team members.
- Must have a valid driver's license, be authorized to work in the United States, and have means of transportation.
- Must be punctual and committed to getting the job done.

Qualifications

• Proven growing experience with trees, horticulture knowledge, or related landscape work is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of tree care practices including tree trimming, pruning techniques, and overall health assessment.
• Familiarity with rigging procedures for safe removal or pruning of large branches or trees.
• Ability to operate lifts safely and efficiently; lift operation experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of landscaping principles and lawn care practices to support comprehensive site maintenance.
• Experience with GIS mapping or land surveying tools is advantageous for documentation purposes.
• Physical stamina and agility to climb trees safely while maintaining focus on safety protocols. Join us in creating safer, greener environments!
