Location: Syracuse, NY

Schedule: Sunday through Thursday

Job Summary:

The Facilities Technician is a highly skilled individual who provides technical facility support and upkeep. This is achieved through the direction and oversight of certified vendors and service groups responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the critical processes at the G&C Facility, as well as routine hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting. This person will also be responsible for detailed scheduling, reporting, and tracking of preventative and routine maintenance of facility equipment. This position is largely self-regulated daily. This individual must be able to work independently and be capable of critical decision-making. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Regular coordination with the Facility Manager for daily tasks. 
• Respond to all service requests as quickly and efficiently as possible by utilizing shift end reports to plan accordingly. Complete all necessary documentation associated with the service request. 
• Complete daily and monthly rounds/temperature checks. 
• Check and maintain mechanical, electrical, pump hose, riser rooms, exhaust fans, and any other functional or safety concerns. 
• Ammonia system monitoring, preventative maintenance scheduling, and troubleshooting. 
• Take after-hours "on call" duties as assigned. 
• Monthly inspections and immediate attention to areas posing risks to the life safety of employees and visitors.
• Additional duties as assigned

Experience and Education Required:

• Excellent diagnostic skills
• Strong understanding of mechanical disciplines
• Experience in dealing with outside vendors and service representatives
• Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency in completing job tasks
• Ability to follow instructions efficiently
• Ability to maintain a friendly, professional attitude with prospects and colleagues
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Valid NYS Driver's License
• Forklift & Electrical pallet jack maintenance experience required
