Journeyman Plasterers are responsible for applying coats of plaster or stucco to exterior walls, ceilings, and other surfaces according to specifications. Work may involve both traditional hand-applied methods and machine-applied finishes, depending on the scope of the project.
Responsibilities
- Apply exterior plaster or stucco to walls, ceilings, and facades using trowels, brushes, or spray equipment.
- Prepare surfaces for application by cleaning, taping, or adding bonding agents as needed.
- Mix plaster/stucco materials to the correct consistency and specifications.
- Repair cracks, holes, or damaged surfaces with plaster patching.
- Ensure high-quality finishes with smooth or textured surfaces as required.
- Work from scaffolds or ladders and ensure all work meets safety and building code standards.
Basic Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience with plaster and/or stucco systems.
- Strong knowledge of materials, tools, and application techniques.
- Physically capable of lifting materials and working on ladders or scaffolding.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to various job sites.
