FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Center located in Spring Hill, FL is in search of a full-time Technician. The person we are seeking will enjoy the fast-paced work of a dynamic organization. We require a team player with the ability to think on their feet and to provide support in an efficient manner. The ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization is critical. Must be able to work well in both a team setting and independently.

Technicians play a support role, under supervision, to Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants with the planning and implementation of patient care. Technicians are responsible for assisting Physical Therapists with clinical tasks while attending to patients. Technicians prepare treatment areas, keep treatment areas organized and clean and assist patients in moving from one exercise to the other. Technicians also provide administrative care by assisting with clerical duties and paperwork. This includes recording prescribed exercises, assisting with recording patient assessment and with the establishment of treatment plans and goals. They may also order and arrange supplies as well as change patient linens and pillows. Technicians are skilled communicators that can build a solid rapport with patients in order to allay fears and to assist in established plans of care and treatment goals.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Helps with patient scheduling
•Greets patients and walks them back to treatment area.
•Assists with patient prep before treatment, transferring, transporting and positioning patients during and after treatment as needed.
•Prepares treatment rooms for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
•Helps treat patients by applying heat packs; paraffin dips; assisting patients into whirlpool; helping patients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion; tracking walking time and distance; measuring mobility; performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques.
•Provides information to patients by answering any questions, requests and discussing retail items most suitable for rehabilitation needs.
•Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
•Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
•Responsible for all the physical therapy equipment set up and take down during treatment sessions.
•Performs prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques requested by Physical Therapists.
•Ensures operation of physical therapy equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instruction; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for or communicating repairs.
•Maintains clinical supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies.
•Organized, efficient multitasker who can manage multiple priorities at once.
