Duties
- Assist licensed plumbers with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
- Prepare work sites by organizing tools, materials, and equipment such as hand tools, power tools, and welding gear.
- Support the setup of piping systems by cutting, threading, fitting, and securing pipes according to schematics and blueprints.
- Follow safety protocols related to power tool operation, welding procedures, and general construction site safety to prevent accidents.
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics to aid in accurate pipe installation and system assembly.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure all tools and materials are properly stored after use.
- Assist in remodeling projects or system upgrades by performing basic carpentry and handyman tasks as directed.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of plumbing systems, pipe installation techniques, and building code compliance.
- Ability to operate hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, saws, and pipe threading equipment safely.
- Experience with power tools including drills, saws, grinders, and welding equipment is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of schematics, blueprints reading, HVAC systems knowledge is advantageous.
- Good physical stamina for standing, lifting heavy materials, bending, and working at heights on construction sites.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe fitting and system layout.
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward safety practices on-site.
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation may be beneficial for field service tasks.
