What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at FWM PAYROLL CLEARING INC?
The primary purpose of the Memory Care Center Cook is to assist the Dietary Manager in planning, ordering, developing and preparing resident meal service with current federal, state and local guidelines as well as with the facility’s established policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
Department Specific:
- Follow approved procedures, prepare in proper quantity, serve in proper portion sizes and label, date, cover, and rotate all remaining foods.
- Follow proper procedures for receiving food and supplies.
- Washing dishes.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident information and promote Resident’s Right to choose.
- Understand and follow color coding and abbreviations of tray cards and therapeutic menus.
- Be courteous, considerate and cooperative in dealing with all facility personnel.
- Understand the basic principles of all common facility therapeutic and texture modified diets and properly serve foods designated to these diets.
- Assist in Events and activities as needed.
- Ensure safety regulations and precautions are being followed at all times.
- Store food according to HCCAP guidelines.
- Record food temperatures for each meal.
- Record sanitation levels as appropriate.
- Maintains a professional image at all times.
- Utilizes problem solving skills to obtain appropriate resolutions.
- Develops and maintains open/trusting professional relationship with others.
- Through appropriate communication shows support for other team members and facility.
In-Service / Continuing Education:
- Attends required continuing education as designated by licensure.
Personnel Management:
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel as well as with other departments within the facility to meet the needs of the Residents.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
- Participates and assists in departmental studies and projects as assigned or that may become necessary.
- Assist new employees.
- Open to new ideas and changes in the department and/or facility.
Other:
- Conforms to expected ethical and legal standards including matters related to Resident abuse and neglect, by personally complying with laws, regulations and facility’s policies and procedures.

- Follow posted cleaning schedule utilizing proper procedures.

- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Be Courteous, considerate and cooperative in dealing with all community personnel.
- Registration on Family Care Registry.
