Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Medical Office Front Desk Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our healthcare facility. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their insurance information, and assist with check-in and check-out procedures using various EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix.
- Schedule appointments efficiently while managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette.
- Verify insurance coverage, conduct insurance verifications, and process medical billing and collections accurately using knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, Medicare, and other insurance protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations; update patient files regularly.
- Assist with intake procedures including collecting patient information and updating health histories in EMR systems.
- Support medical administrative functions such as filing, data entry (including 10-key typing), and managing office supplies to ensure a well-organized front desk environment.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and ensure seamless communication between patients and providers.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical billing processes.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft or similar platforms.
- Experience with insurance verification procedures and familiarity with Medicare guidelines.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced clinic setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
