Mechanical Engineer
Location: Cumberland, RI
About the Opportunity
An established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support industrial, pharmaceutical, biotech, utility, and advanced manufacturing projects. This role involves designing mechanical and utility systems for both facility renovations and new construction projects.
Engineers will work on a variety of HVAC, process utility, piping, and facility infrastructure projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams. This position offers direct client interaction and the opportunity to advance into project management and technical leadership roles.
Responsibilities
- Design HVAC, utility, piping, and mechanical systems for industrial and commercial facilities
- Develop construction documents, specifications, and engineering calculations
- Perform facility assessments and existing condition evaluations
- Assist with feasibility studies, system analysis, and equipment selection
- Coordinate designs with electrical, process, structural, and architectural disciplines
- Support construction administration and field activities
- Participate in client meetings and project planning efforts
- Contribute throughout all phases of project delivery
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- EIT, PE, or progress toward licensure preferred
- Experience with HVAC, piping, utilities, process systems, or facility infrastructure
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Knowledge of applicable mechanical and building codes
- Strong communication and project coordination skills
