About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate RN Director – Psych to join our leadership team in Worcester, MA. This position provides leadership and support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), overseeing nursing and designated patient care functions within the hospital.
The Director will be responsible for assisting in the assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice across multiple units. This is a 24/7 leadership role, accountable for ensuring high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care, clinical competency, and optimal resource management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership in alignment with the hospital’s goals and nursing standards.
- Support the CNO in managing all nursing and patient care functions across assigned areas.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote continuous improvement in patient outcomes.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment for nursing and clinical staff.
- Serve as a mentor, role model, and advocate for professional nursing practice.
- Oversee staff development, performance evaluations, and resource utilization.
Qualifications
Education:
- Required: Associate Degree in Nursing and a Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare-related field (or BSN).
- Preferred: MSN or Master’s in a healthcare-related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of psychiatric (Psych) nursing experience in a hospital setting (required).
- Minimum 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment (Manager or Director level).
Licensure/Certifications:
- Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of Massachusetts.
- CPR certification (required).
Skills:
- Proven leadership and hospital operational abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead by example and uphold the highest standards of nursing practice.
