Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic sessions to guide residents through excises to improve motor skills, sensory processing and daily function
- Recorde resident progress, treatments and observations as directed
- Work under the direction of Occupationa Therapist to support our residents with treatment plans
- Educate residents and family members on how to use adaptive equipment and perform excercise programs
- Set up and ensure proper cleanliness of treatment areas
- Prepare materials and manage therapy supplies
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current license in the state of Maryland
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a geriatric or a subacute facility preferred
- Certified by the American Occupation Therapy Association
- Prefer active membership in the state and national American Occupational Therapy Association
- Ability to understand and follow the directions of the Occupational Therapist and the policies and procedures of the facility
