What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Teacher position at Future Leaders Enrichment Center?
The Summer Camp Teacher is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading engaging educational and recreational activities for children in a safe and supportive environment. This role focuses on promoting learning, creativity, teamwork, and personal growth during the summer program.
Canadiate availablity must be from June 1-Aug 15, 2026
9:00-6:00 pm Monday-Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate lessons, activities, and projects
- Supervise campers at all times to ensure safety and well-being
- Create a positive, inclusive, and structured environment
- Lead activities such as arts & crafts, sports, STEM, reading, and group games
- Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance techniques
- Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and staff
- Assist with daily camp operations, including setup and cleanup
- Monitor attendance and maintain accurate records
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow all safety protocols
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required (associate or bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred)
- Experience working with children (camp, school, daycare, or youth programs)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage groups of children in an active environment
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Background check required FBI/BCI
Preferred Skills:
- Creativity and enthusiasm for working with youth
- Patience and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Experience with lesson planning or curriculum development
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and be active for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Willingness to participate in outdoor activities in various weather conditions
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Childcare: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- driver license (Required)
- First Aid Certification (Required)
