We are seeking energetic and compassionate Summer Camp Counselors to create a fun, safe, and enriching summer experience for children. In this role, you will lead engaging activities, ensure safety protocols are followed, and support children’s social and emotional development. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives while developing your skills in childcare, education, and leadership. Duties
- Lead and supervise children during camp activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment
- Plan and implement age-appropriate games, arts and crafts, sports, theater performances, and other engaging activities
- Maintain active classroom management to promote positive behavior and cooperation among campers
- Provide first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or behavioral issues
- Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance through tailored activities and encouragement
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about camper progress and experiences
- Foster a fun, respectful atmosphere that encourages teamwork, creativity, and personal growth
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as early education and/or school -age programs
- Strong skills in classroom management, behavior management, and childhood development principles
- Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable; willingness to obtain certification upon hire is required
- Knowledge of special education strategies or experience working with children with special needs is a plus
- Ability to engage children through sports coaching, theater activities, or other creative outlets
- Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with kids
