Duties
- Perform detailed diagnostics on mobile devices running Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows operating systems to identify hardware and software issues.
- Conduct repairs on smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices using specialized tools and techniques, including soldering when necessary.
- Replace or repair damaged components such as screens, batteries, charging ports, cameras, and internal hardware modules.
- Conduct software troubleshooting to resolve issues related to operating systems, apps, or firmware updates.
- Use hand tools and electronic testing equipment to perform precise repairs on delicate components while maintaining safety standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers in retail or field service environments regarding device features, software updates, or troubleshooting steps.
- Document repair procedures thoroughly in service logs and update inventory records for parts used.
- Stay current with emerging mobile device technologies and repair techniques through ongoing training and research.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized workspace equipped with the necessary tools for efficient repairs.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of Android, iOS (Apple), macOS (Apple computers), and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with computer hardware components relevant to mobile devices such as chips, connectors, and circuit boards.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, spudgers, multimeters, and specialized electronic testing equipment.
- Excellent analysis skills to diagnose hardware failures quickly and accurately.
- Familiarity with software troubleshooting processes for operating systems and device firmware.
- Strong technical support skills for assisting customers both in retail settings and on-field service calls.
- Knowledge of mobile device repair best practices combined with attention to detail for quality assurance.
