JOB TITLE: SR. MANAGER MATERIAL FLOW & LOGISTICS

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: To create and maintain standardized shipping, receiving, material flow, and logistics processes across the country at all current and new Future Form Manufacturing facilities, ensuring accurate inventory control, timely and cost-effective deliveries, and consistent operational performance company-wide.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:

Essential

  • Manage and ramp up Future Form Logistics operations from the ground up, including establishing processes, systems, and staffing. Own and manage cost and execution KPIs for the function, and manage the P&L for Future Form Logistics.
  • Provide direction and leadership for Shipping/Receiving Managers at each facility nationwide. Coach and support facility leadership, providing performance feedback on an ongoing basis. Responsible for hiring, onboarding, and progressive corrective counseling of direct reports. Assess training needs and coordinate development plans across all sites.
  • Create and maintain standardized shipping, receiving, material flow, and logistics processes across the country at all current and new Future Form Manufacturing facilities.
  • Oversee and manage shipping, receiving, and material flow activities company-wide. Ensure accuracy of all inbound and outbound shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation, at every facility. Establish and maintain procedures to ensure inventory accuracy and transaction integrity within ERP/MRP systems across all sites. Monitor and improve warehouse organization, storage methods, and material handling processes company-wide.
  • Manage carrier relationships and logistics strategy at a national level. Negotiate freight rates and service agreements with carriers and vendors. Analyze freight costs, shipping expenses, and delivery performance metrics across all facilities; identify and implement cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Sales at each facility. Resolve shipping, receiving, inventory, and delivery issues. Ensure shipping/receiving and material flow functions effectively support production schedules and customer deadlines nationwide.
  • Develop and maintain corporate-wide shipping/receiving, material flow, and logistics policies, procedures, and standard work; ensure consistent implementation across all facilities. Maintain responsibilities of the ISO 9001 system in accordance with the Quality Manual and procedures.
  • Lead the integration of new facilities into standardized material flow, shipping/receiving, and logistics processes as the company expands, including site startup, staffing support, and process rollout.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies across all facilities. Ensure safe operation of forklifts, reach trucks, and company vehicles. Oversee equipment inspections and safety compliance company-wide.
  • Participate actively and positively in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives. Keep current on logistics, freight, and supply chain best practices.

Non-Essential

  • Visit facilities and provide hands-on support with shipping/receiving, material flow, or logistics operations as needed.
  • Support other departments or facilities when workload permits.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WORKS WITH: Future Form Manufacturing Team Members, Facility Leadership, Customers, Vendors, and Carriers Nationwide

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Follow all OSHA safety regulations and those set by Future Form Manufacturing at every facility.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Essential

  • BA/BS in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum seven years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, material flow, or logistics management, including multi-site responsibility.
  • Minimum five years of supervisory or management experience, including managing managers or leaders across multiple locations.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control and ERP/MRP systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills across a geographically distributed team.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities; ability to manage complex, multi-site projects and process rollouts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of freight systems, carrier requirements, and logistics operations at a national level.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across multiple facilities and time zones.
  • Good computer skills including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly, including overnight travel, to current and new facilities across the country.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Beneficial

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Sit 40%, Stand 20%, Walk 10%, Travel 20%, Bend 3%, Squat 2%, Lift 2%, Twist 2%, Reach Above Shoulder 1%.

Must be able to lift 30 pounds on an occasional basis.

Must have normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids).

Working Environment: Office, warehouse, and travel environment across multiple facility locations. Moderate noise level in warehouse and dock areas. Occasional exposure to dust, heat, and cold during facility visits.


This position will require drug testing per company policy.
