Position Summary

Future Foam is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our Newton, Kansas manufacturing team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this hands-on position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment and facility systems to support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate has experience maintaining industrial machinery and possesses strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled systems. This individual enjoys solving technical challenges, working independently and as part of a team, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts throughout the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and maintain production equipment and facility systems.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, automation, and control systems using schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
  • Assist with equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and support automation systems.
  • Maintain and repair equipment including electrical saws, CNC machines, cutting and compression equipment, packaging machinery, and facility infrastructure.
  • Complete routine equipment inspections and identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment documentation, and work orders using computerized maintenance systems.
  • Coordinate the procurement of repair parts and materials as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company maintenance standards, safety procedures, and applicable electrical and mechanical codes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support production by responding quickly and effectively to equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to troubleshoot equipment and improve overall plant performance.
  • Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies, complete required training, and properly wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Hands-on experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician, Industrial Electrician, or related skilled trade.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial controls.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience with PLC programming or advanced troubleshooting.
  • Light machining, welding, or fabrication experience.
  • Experience obtaining quotes, ordering maintenance parts, and coordinating outside services.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and equipment reliability programs.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
