What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabricator position at Future Fence Company?

Future Fence Company, founded in 1979, is the largest installer of commercial fence in the state of Michigan and is focused on future growth. Our team of skilled craftsmen build some of the Midwest's most interesting ornamental architectural metal products for bridges, buildings and streetscapes out of a variety of metals including steel, aluminum, stainless and bronze.
Position Summary: This position is for experienced MIG and TIG fitter/welder who can weld various types of metals: mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Applicants should be able to operate drill press, power saws, grinders, torches, pipe bender and roller. Applicants must be able to work from assembly drawings, detail drawings, and sketches with minimal supervision. Fitter/welders will be required to take welder qualifications tests per AWS D1.1, D1.5 (1G & 5G positions).
Experience
- 3-5 years MIG/TIG welding of steel/stainless/aluminum.
- 3-5 years blueprint reading/table layout/fit up.
- Operate overhead crane/Hi-Lo/vertical band saw.
- Ability to complete work independently, efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Able to work on your feet for extended periods of time and lift 60 pounds.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing environment that may have high noise levels, dust, chemicals, oil, and grease.
- Environment that may be either hot, cold or humid.
