What are the responsibilities and job description for the Area Director position at Future Electronics?
The Area Sales Director is responsible for the overall branch performance and operations.
What you’ll be working on
- Set sales and engineering objectives and goals for the branches of responsibility in alignment with the North America’s overall objectives.
- Achieve all budgeted metrics including branch sales and engineering metrics.
- Direct the GSM, Strategic Account Managers, Advanced Engineers and Account Executives in key accounts.
- Conduct regular, formalized account reviews with the sales teams to review numerical, broadening, and image goals in an account. Reviews should be held on a quarterly basis.
- Supplier reviews and monthly opportunity reviews.
- Hold performance reviews and compensation adjustments of staff.
- Hire/ replace sales staff.
- Promotes branch image to the local suppliers, customers, and manufacturer reps.
- Present Future Electronics value-added capabilities to Senior level strategic customers. This includes supply chain programs, demand creation, programming, and other value-added services.
- P&L Management- Monitor overall profitability of the branch.
- TRAVEL- domestic and international travel required. Time varies from 10-50%
- Arrange & coordinate Corporate Customer visits.
- Define approach to key industries Robotics, AI, Medical, industrial, Mil/Aero, etc.
- Review design opportunities with the Advanced Engineer's, GSM's, SAM's.
- Interface with Advanced Engineering Team to identify Focus Accounts based on these design opportunities and branch ranking, market ranking, and key end technology in these accounts, and review this list quarterly.
- Conduct focus account, supplier and activity reviews with the Regional Technical Director- Engineering (RTD). Formal reviews with the sales team and the Advanced Engineers should be held by the second week of each quarter.
- Ensure that the mutually agreed upon AEG focus accounts receive the proper attention by the AEG – including the number of visits to the customer’s Engineering Department.
We’re looking for someone with
- 10 years experience within the electronics distribution industry.
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Teams, CRM, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- College Degree or bachelor’s degree in any field.
- Technical aptitude- Engineering degree a plus.
- 5 years prior management experience preferred.
- Resides in Bay Area.
- Prior experience with C-Suite.
- Proven track record of success and job stability.
- Capable of leading a team in San Jose and Sacramento with ability to take on more responsibility.
