We bring professional, personalized management to workplace retirement accounts — through employers, wealth advisors, and the tools advisors can use. Our solutions accommodate different approaches, from turnkey options to customizable strategies, while helping advisors and clients confidently navigate a professionally managed retirement account.
About the Role
Future Capital is seeking a VP of Operations to support the leadership of day-to-day execution of the Wealth and Integrated Operations team and serve as the operational voice into engineering and product for FC's client-facing platform. This role spans the teams responsible for client onboarding, participant support, operationally strategic partner relationships, and the operational processes that keep our managed account services running accurately and compliantly across all product lines.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day execution of the Wealth and Integrated Operations team, including performance management, coaching, and development.
- Scale team structure and processes as Future Capital's participant base and product lines grow.
- Continually improve end-to-end client onboarding across all products, respecting each product's distinct fiduciary posture.
- Maintain and continuously improve core operational systems and workflows, partnering with Engineering on improvements.
- Own the operational cadence for participant communications, in coordination with marketing, compliance, and engineering.
- Identify process breakdowns and drive root-cause fixes rather than one-off patches.
- Act as the primary operations voice into engineering and product, translating operational pain points into requirements.
- Collaborate on specifications and process flows to ensure the product reflects actual operational workflows.
- Represent the operations team in roadmap and prioritization discussions.
- Manage relationships with distribution and sub-advisory partners on operational service delivery.
- Serve as the escalation point for partner-facing operational issues.
- Partner with Compliance and Legal to ensure operational processes align with regulatory obligations.
- Proactively flag operational risk, particularly around product-line fiduciary distinctions.
- Report to the COO on team performance, operational KPIs, and trends.
- Contribute to broader operational strategy, including tooling evaluation and build-vs-buy decisions.
Qualifications
- 7 years in operations leadership within financial services or a similar industry, with direct background at an RIA or broker-dealer from an operations or trade execution perspective.
- Hands-on exposure to trading systems and trade execution workflows (order entry, rebalancing, settlement, reconciliation, or similar).
- Direct experience managing teams and cross-functional stakeholders in a regulated environment.
- Strong project and program management skills, with experience running multi-workstream operational initiatives from scoping through execution.
- Demonstrated ability to translate operational workflows into technical requirements for engineering/product teams.
- Experience working with Excel and relational databases.
- Familiarity with retirement plan recordkeeping, custodial platforms, or account aggregation technology strongly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to leadership and external partners.
