Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Sales & Service Representative to join our team in Taylor, MI. This full-time, on-site role is centered around driving inside sales for our cutting tool product line while managing assembly and service operations. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with cutting tools, strong sales acumen, and a solid understanding of the manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive inside sales of cutting tool and spindle-related solutions to machine tool builders and end users
- Manage order entry, auditing, and technical accuracy of incoming orders
- Support customers with product selection, pricing, and troubleshooting
- Track and follow up on sales quotations and order progress to ensure customer satisfaction
- Coordinate shipping logistics, customs, and timely product deliveries
- Assist in product design/customization using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks)
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer alignment
- Oversee service operations, including basic assembly tasks and quality checks
Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution
- 3–5 years in a technical sales or service role within the manufacturing industry, with a focus on cutting tools and machine tool systems
- Strong understanding of sales processes, order administration, and quoting procedures for technical products
- Familiarity with indexable cutting tools, spindle systems, measuring equipment, fits, tolerances, and industrial materials
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD tools; ERP experience (preferably Epicor) is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
- Capable of managing multiple priorities, tracking orders, and ensuring on-time deliveries
