Quality Control Manager

Objective/Purpose

Quality Control Manager position will manage mid-size/moderate complexity projects for client. This role oversees the quality control program to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the project documents, and to the satisfaction of the client. It is expected that this individual will effectively communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the overall quality of the project.

Roles/Responsibilities

· Manage quality on mid-size projects

· Oversees total construction efforts and ensures adherence to project documents such plans, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings.

· Oversees all quality of a project

· Maintain positive client relationships

· Arrange for and schedule inspections by government officials

· Review pre-construction and closeout submittals for compliance with the contract documents and process all submittals in RMS.

· Participate in weekly subtrade meetings to help Superintendent plan, organize, control the assigned project

· Maintain daily logs in RMS 3.0 to document all jobsite activities and events

· Maintain written documentation for all testing required by the contract documents and witness testing to verify conformance to the requirements.

· Implements and maintain all quality control programs utilizing the Three Phase Inspection standard and documents all meetings in writing and in RMS.

· Verify materials arriving onsite match approved submittals

· Maintain a working relationship with Trade Partners

· Proactive approach in identifying and solving field issues with subcontractors and/or project documents

· Enforce client's Drug, Alcohol, and Harassment policies

· Responsible to assist/backup the SSHO and Superintendent in ensuring that a safe workplace remains the top priority by supporting policies, procedures, and practices. Ensure jobsite safety is meeting or exceeding OSHA regulations/EM385 regulations and client's Safety Program

Skills Required

· Minimum of 10 years combined experience in the following positions: Project Superintendent, QC Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer or Construction Manager on similar size and type construction contracts which included the major trades that are part of this contract.

· Detailed knowledge and experience with RMS 3.0, minimum 5 years' experience with QCS/RMS

· Ability to read, analyze & interpret federal contract documents, federal safety rules (including EM385), operating & maintenance instructions, & procedure manuals

· Must be familiar with the requirements of EM and have experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Proficient in Microsoft Office

· OSHA 30 Hour Certificate

· USACE CQM-C Certificate

Skills Preferred

· First Aid/CPR Certified

· QC of MEP, architectural and structural systems

· Procore Construction Management Software

· Preferably, a degree in Building Science, Construction Management or Engineering

· Understanding of Primavera P6 scheduling

· Able to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps. etc.

· Able to utilize construction personnel hoists

· Able to navigate work areas that are under construction

· Specific vision abilities required for this job include vision, peripheral, depth perception, and focus

· Repeating motions that may include wrist, hands, and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, and

· controls

· Operate motor vehicle or heavy equipment

· Communicate with others to exchange information

· Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing for long periods of time

· Ability to climb, maintain balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

· Light to medium work that includes moving objects between 20-50 pounds

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud. The proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be required when exposed to the above conditions in accordance with OSHA and EM safety provisions.

Exemption Status: Exempt

This is a full-time salary position. Travel is required within the United States; this role is job site based.

Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours, but there are occasions where weekend/night work is required due to contract requirements and/or logistical reasons.
