We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist III – Computational Pathology with advanced expertise in spatial transcriptomics and proteomics to join a leading Precision Medicine Pathology team.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will be proficient in analyzing high-plex spatial data (CosMx SMI, PhenoCycler Fusion/CODEX), developing analysis pipelines, and collaborating closely with pathologists and digital pathology teams. This role requires strong technical capability, independence, and the ability to train and communicate findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize scripts and pipelines for spatial transcriptomics and high-plex image analysis.
- Perform end-to-end analysis of high-plex PhenoCycler Fusion/CODEX images, including:
- Tissue classification
- Cell segmentation
- Marker positivity detection
- Cell phenotyping
- Unsupervised clustering
- Neighborhood and proximity analysis
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing training and guidance to team members on spatial analysis workflows.
- Partner with pathologists and digital pathology scientists to support spatial biology initiatives and translational projects.
- Prepare and deliver clear, concise presentations summarizing study results and analytical insights.
Qualifications
- MSc, PhD, or equivalent degree in Biological Sciences, Computational Biology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Python and R.
- Hands-on experience with CosMx SMI and PhenoCycler Fusion/CODEX spatial biology platforms.
- Strong background in implementing open-source pipelines for high-plex and spatial image analysis.
- Experience using digital pathology tools such as Halo, Visiopharm, or QuPath.
- Familiarity with microscopic anatomy and histology (normal and diseased tissue) is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, with proven experience presenting findings to scientific and cross-functional teams.
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, able to work independently, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
