Position Summary
Fusion is seeking qualified Power Plant Operations & Maintenance Technicians (Generator Mechanics) to support mission-critical power generation operations in Omaha, Nebraska. This position is responsible for the operation, monitoring, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel generators, electrical switchgear, compressed air systems, fuel systems, and associated control equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate diesel generators, electrical switchgear, and associated control systems in automatic and manual modes
- Monitor plant systems, including voltage, frequency, load balance, alarms, and equipment status to ensure safe and reliable operations
- Restore emergency power within required response timelines
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance tasks, operational checks, and corrective maintenances activities
- Execute switching operations in accordance with approved procedures and safety requirements
- Respond to power failures, equipment malfunctions, alarm conditions, and other operational emergencies
- Document operational data, inspections, deficiencies, maintenance actions, and required logs and reports
- Identify maintenance requirements and report deficiencies to management
- Support troubleshooting, testing, repair, and maintenance of diesel generators, fuel systems, compressed air systems, and related equipment
- Adhere to all applicable safety, security, environmental, and mission-essential service requirements
Qualifications
- Experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing power generation, industrial mechanical, electrical, or similar equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, procedures, and equipment documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with diesel generators, electrical switchgear, power distribution systems, or industrial plant operations
- OSHA 10 certification or equivalent safety training
- Military, technical school, apprenticeship, or related industry experience
Additional Information
This position supports a 24/7 mission-critical operation and is covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA). Employees may be assigned day, evening, overnight, weekend, holiday, or on-call shifts as needed to meet operational requirements and support emergency response activities.
