Location: Lackland AF Base San Antonio TX.
Compensation: $33hr - $42hr, (DOE), Traveling and Lodging Paid for
Clearance: Secret (required)
Experience Level: 3 Years
Certification: CAD Certification or equivalent preferred
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Network Drafter to support a large-scale infrastructure modernization effort. In this role, you will transform complex technical concepts into precise, high-quality visual documentation that supports mission-critical network design and deployment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a drafter with DoD or network infrastructure experience to work on advanced systems and collaborate closely with engineers, planners, and field teams.
What You’ll Do
- Create DoDAF-compliant network topology diagrams (OV-1, OV-2, SV-1, SV-2)
- Develop detailed rack elevation drawings and system layouts
- Produce and maintain ISP/OSP infrastructure documentation
- Generate site survey packages, including floor plans and installation details
- Create and update redline drawings during installation activities
- Maintain accurate as-built documentation for completed systems
- Develop system architecture diagrams and network visualizations
- Produce wireless heat maps and coverage documentation
- Design cable routing diagrams and pathways
- Maintain configuration management drawings for evolving systems
- Coordinate with Civil Engineering (CE) drafting teams and project stakeholders
What You Bring
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Visio, or similar CAD/design tools
- Strong understanding of DoDAF standards and diagramming
- Experience creating network topology and infrastructure documentation
- Knowledge of technical drawing standards and blueprint interpretation
- Familiarity with network infrastructure concepts (cabling, racks, layouts)
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple documentation updates
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting DoD network architecture programs
- Familiarity with CIPS/CVC systems
- Experience with wireless design and heat mapping tools
- Exposure to 3D modeling or visualization tools
- Knowledge of GIS/GPS mapping systems
