Accountant
At FuseCFO, we prioritize a positive team culture, high-touch service to our clients, and an environment where our people can grow and succeed. We’re currently looking for a versatile Accountant to support our small-and medium-sized business clients.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing multiple client entities, delivering accurate and timely accounting work, and communicating with warmth and professionalism. This role is primarily remote, with an annual in-person visit to the Charlotte, NC region for company gatherings and infrequent client travel.
Fuse is a flexible, remote/hybrid employer of fractional Accounting and CFO services…but we are not a tax accounting firm. Our team is collaborative, supportive, and dedicated to delivering excellent work for our clients while maintaining a friendly, approachable style.
Essential Functions
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple clients, including:
- Bank/credit card transaction coding
- AR/AP processing
- Payroll duties
- Bank, credit card, and Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Journal entries and accruals
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or potential issues in financial data
- Prepare and review monthly workpapers and variance analysis while ensuring accuracy of P&L and Balance Sheet accounts
- Assist with vendor maintenance, sales tax filings, and 1099 preparation
- Process, organize and react to incoming client information from multiple sources
- Maintain client-specific documentation and process notes
- Collaborate with team members on client work and ad hoc projects
Ideal Candidate Qualities
We’re looking for a hands-on, adaptable Accountant who thrives in regularly shifting responsibilities in a multi-client environment. You should be proactive, detail-oriented, and motivated to get the work done right the first time. Strong organization and time management skills are a must, as is the ability to work independently while also being part of a team.
The right candidate will:
- Have a positive attitude and client-first mindset
- Understand GAAP, cash vs. accrual accounting, depreciation and amortization, the relationship between the Balance Sheet and Income Statement, and financial statement preparation
- Stay organized and professional when juggling competing deadlines
- Be comfortable learning and applying new technologies
Education & Experience
- QuickBooks Online expertise required (QBO Certified preferred)
- Strong skills in Excel, Google Suite, and cloud-based tools
- 2 years of accounting experience supporting small to mid-sized businesses
- Demonstrated experience successfully handling multiple client entities
– Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
Hours & Schedule
Part or Full Time -25-40 hours/week. Our team generally works Monday–Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, EST, with some flexibility around scheduling.
Most client work is remote, although occasional on-site visits or team visits to the Charlotte region may be required.
